Big Changes for Amazon UK Sellers

Amazon’s UK fulfillment operations are ending: European Fulfillment Network and Pan-European FBA inventory transfers between the UK and EU. Here are a few things you need to know:

European Fulfillment Network (EFN) was used by U.S. companies with goods in the UK Amazon fulfillment center, sellers paid Amazon a set fee to ship to a seller in another country from the UK warehouse without the need for VAT registration in other EU countries.

Pan-European FBA Amazon moved stock from UK to Amazon warehouses in Europe. FBA sellers shipped goods to a UK fulfillment center and then Amazon would take on the logistics of distributing it to Amazon storage locations across the EU.

For companies with stock in Amazon UK warehouses both options end on January 1, 2021.
If you own stock in the UK: Amazon might repatriate your stock before the end of the year. Also, Amazon might stop sending your goods to Europe before Christmas or maybe sooner - “Amazon’s nightmare before Christmas”.

If you have any other questions about what this means for the future of your EU or UK business dealings, please contact us directly at bianca.blake@eurovat.com for a free consultation.
