Bulgaria Started Using EURO 2026

Bulgaria has entered the Eurozone! They officially began adoption of the Euro currency on January 1, 2026. The currency fixed rate is 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN. Bulgarian VAT rules remain aligned with the EU VAT Directive. If you do business in Bulgaria, please update your invoices and accounting systems to list EURO amounts.

Make sure your report show the new currency; and monitor transitional rules for 2025 year-end transactions. In short: businesses should adapt their systems for euro invoicing and reporting.
