EU Ends €150 Duty-Free Imports
The EU will remove the €150 customs duty exemption for low-value imports!
This is a big change considering, billions of small parcels currently enter duty-free and many are undervalued. From July 2026: a transitional system begins where a €3 flat duty per parcel may apply. By 2028 a full system with a new Customs Data Hub will be implemented.
This change aims to modernize and simplify customs operations, support fair competition and create a level playing field between e-commerce and traditional retail. It is also expected to streamline customs duties collection and reduce the administrative burdens on customs authorities.
